Several years ago the owners of this
1936 Traditional had done a major
renovation when the house was moved
to its present location; however, as their
family expanded, the need to renovate
and expand again became readily
apparent. The existing kitchen was
enlarged and now opens onto a new
family room where this family of six can
cook and spend time together. Tongue
and groove ceilings, custom designed
cabinetry and a stone fireplace give this
space a wonderful feeling of warmth.
Upstairs, a new master suite and retreat
provide the owners a private place of
refuge. Custom windows matching the
originals as well as a clawfoot tub
combine the old and the new. And finally,
a playroom was added over the existing
two-car garage which can easily be
converted to an in-law suite should the
need arise. As with the previous work,
the newly renovated areas and additions
smoothly integrate with the style and
character of the original house and
enhance the whole.
