Los Feliz, CA
Since zoning restrictions on this 1928 Spanish style home meant no square footage could be added, space-making
strategies and a finessed floor plan were employed to free this once claustrophobic and inefficient kitchen. Widening partitions
and shedding doorways allowed for a laundry station and walk-in pantry at one end and an open flow into the jewel box sized breakfast
room at the other. A deep window box above the sink and a new French door bring space-expanding daylight and contribute to the
illusion of roominess. Honed soapstone counters, subway tile and shaker style inset cabinets reflect the home's vintage character
in this thoroughly streamlined space.
